Color Accuracy

Color accuracy is a very significant issue to those in the transfer industry, but one that is clearly not well defined. Here’s our definition and we invite you to send us yours.

Color accuracy according to Image Solutions: A digital image you can see in real life (digital camera) that prints onto paper exactly what you expect to see. Expanding on that idea, you should be able to take a digital photo and print/press it onto a light T-shirt and get perfect color representation. That transfer should give you exceptional wash results on any fabric you choose. Now if you take that idea one step further, you should be able to get at least 50 washes from that transfer without cracking and with virtually zero color fade.

If you are looking for that solution, it exists today. Dye-sublimation toner for the Okidata C3200/C5200 color laser printers works extremely well. You can now produce a full color transfer on a T-shirt (transfer, T-shirt and toner) and expect it be cost as low as $2.25 per shirt (depending on the size of the transfer, the coverage of that transfer, and the color of the T-shirt).  You can even produce a color fast straight sublimation transfer T-shirt (no carrier, no hand, no discoloration of the fabric, just color being transferred) for just slightly more than a Hottee transfer using ATI Release Paper.
