Okidata 3200N System Set Up Swapping the Cartridges: Setting up your Okidata 3200N will require you to swap your regular toner cartridges with your new dye-sublimation cartridges. There is a one time mess associated with the swap. Once they have been swapped, changing out any subsequent cartridges because the cartridges are empty, is simple, clean and quick. Click on the link to view a PDF file of the process. Toner Cartridge Set Up Printer Set Up: On the Okidata control panel, you will need to leave the color density settings for cyan, magenta and yellow at 0 (default setting). C5200 Driver Update: Go to http://my.okidata.com/pp-C5200n.nsf/openingdrivermenu?OpenFrameSet and download the latest driver for your printer, then go into your printer properties, select the advanced tab and select the "new driver" option. Allow the system to update your driver accordingly. You must manually go through this process or the driver will not be updated. You can tell if it is updated or not by going to the "Job Options" page and checking to see if you have "Photo Enhance" as an option directly under "Toner Saving".Printer driver set up: Go into the Control Panel and select "printers and faxes". Choose the Okidata driver and right click on it, selecting "properties". Select the ‘printing preferences" button. Under "Media" set paper weight at Heavy (28 – 32 lbs.). Click on the "Job Options" tab and set Quality to "Fine", leave Toner Saving "Off" and Photo Enhance "Off". Now switch to the "Color" tab. Set "Color Mode" to "Advanced Color" and "Color Setting" to "Unadjusted"., "Apply" and "Okay" your way out of the printer driver. Once completed, you have your printer defaults set to these settings and they will always remain that way. Load the Color Profile: Write to image.solutions@earthlink.net to get the color profile sent to you, then copy it into your c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color folder. Once there, your system will be able to load it via your graphics software package (not your printer driver). You can use any software package for printing your graphics as long as it supports color management. Typical programs you can use are Corel Draw, PhotoShop Elements, PhotoShop, and JASC Paint Shop Pro (now called Corel Paint Shop Pro X). Click on your software package for PDF file set up instructions. Corel Draw 11 and Newer Set Up Call (800) 514-3201 for specific set up instructions for your software if using Paint Shop Pro. Adjusting Your Artwork: There is no need to adjust your artwork for color accuracy |
